A revitalized the Russian player secured his maiden trophy for 882 days with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the competition final.

The athlete, a ex- number one, has endured a difficult season, winning just a single victory at the big events and experiencing a setback at the American major.

The player's varied form on the tennis tour - and issues with his serving in particular - caused him exiting of the elite rankings and ultimately separating with long-term coach Cervara.

Currently working with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually progressed in the last few weeks - culminating in a hard-fought three-set victory over opponent Moutet.

This marks Medvedev's first trophy since the Italian tournament and initial on a hard court after March of that year.

The win also signifies Medvedev has won 21 titles at 21 different tournaments.

"It's the first time I am participating in a competition with my both daughters at once, so to secure a championship is really nice," stated tennis professional Medvedev.

"This championship is in dedication of my younger daughter my daughter, because the first title I achieved when my first daughter her name was born was for her."

The tennis star, the past champion, had lost his last six finals, including in Halle previously this season.

The player's defensive approach and frequent outbursts on the playing surface had caused commentators to wonder if his skill to play at the highest level was over.

Yet the athlete has implemented adjustments in the past month, making an effort to advance forward and compete aggressively, supported by an better service.

He fought back from a deficit in the opening set against the challenging Frenchman, winning 4 of the final five points to gain the advantage.

Both players exchanged break points in the second set before the challenger, striving for his initial ATP Tour title, seized the initiative to create a decider.

Moutet rescued 4 initial break points in a competitive third set before the champion broke to fifteen to serve for the match.

Fittingly, he secured the title with a point at the net, with Moutet unable to control a volley after over two and a half hours.
