Gyökeres and Rice on target as dominant the Gunners push the Clarets away.

Arsenal's set pieces bring such a level of organised chaos and innovative approaches they could be nominated for the Turner Prize. Instead, they are cementing themselves as top contenders for the Premier League title following increasing their advantage at the summit.

Goals from headers from Viktor Gyökeres and the England midfielder proved to be the key contribution at Turf Moor on what was an untroubled encounter in the north-west. Burnley were unable to have a single effort on goal as the visitors secured a fifth consecutive Premier League win, the past four keeping clean sheets.

"Another set piece olé olé," was the refrain echoing from the away end after a tough start against a high-energy Burnley side. Declan Rice delivered the set-piece to the back post from where the Brazilian defender flicked the ball back to the centre of the goal and the forward nodded in from close range for Arsenal's twelfth set-piece goal in the league this season.

From this point, Arsenal dominated possession. Each corner kick brought a outburst from the away support and a anxious silence from the majority at Turf Moor, worried about what would come. Significant attempts were made to prevent Martin Dubravka from getting off his line to catch, and he did well to clear one Rice delivery to safety from under the bar as the intensity mounted.

The home team could not to make a game of it, deploying all their players behind the ball to make life as difficult as possible. The shot-stopper did well against Bukayo Saka, when the attacker was clear through, to ensure the advantage was not doubled.

Arsenal started to open Burnley up, wearing them down from having so much of the ball, with Saka and Eberechi Eze supplying the pace to capitalize on the gaps. The England international had one more attempt saved by the keeper and the substitute saw the rebound blocked on the line. Vincent Kompany's men were holding on and striving to do so.

Finally the second Gunners goal arrived from a launched ball, it turned out to be off their own play. Arsenal cleared the ball and launched a fast attack, culminating with Trossard lifting to the onrushing midfielder to eventually give the goalie no opportunity, breaking the home team's resolve as a result.

Burnley were unable to produce any efforts in the opening period and the likelihood of them getting into the match looked unlikely. Turf Moor was muted, resigned of their second top division home defeat since promotion, knowing their survival will not depend by the fixture of opponents like Arsenal.

There was little need to find a third from the leaders, perhaps with consideration for the midweek match to Slavia Prague, content to let Burnley have the ball. Arsenal coasted through the remaining period, justifiably assured their opponents lacked the ability to score against them on their way to seventh consecutive cleansheet in every match.

Arsenal have never lost at this venue in the Premier League and their latest victory proved the team's structure is able to handle difficult trips without concern. Arsenal are not worried about who they face but their opponents absolutely are.
